Yasmeen Abdullah -
She didn't come. I said: and she won't... So then
I will rearrange the evening to suit my disappointment and her absence:
I extinguished the fire of her candles,
I turned on the electric light,
I drank her glass of wine and broke it,
I replaced the fast violin music with Persian songs.
I said: She won't come.
I'll remove the elegant necktie [this way I'm more comfortable]
I'll wear blue pajamas. I'll walk barefoot if I wish.
I'll sit cross-legged in relaxation on her couch, so I forget her and forget all the things of absence/
I returned what I had prepared for our party to their drawers.
And I opened all my windows and curtains.
There is no secret in my body before the night except
what I waited for and what I lost...
