from the collection “Itineraries”
The collection is a visual diary of an artist in a time of war.
‘The only survivors of any means of expression, when leaving Khartoum, was a sketchbook and some pens, as well as access to my guitar and its accessories, a laptop, and the accumulated collection in it, including paintings and coloring materials.
I started organizing my scattered papers and my sketchbook telling stories, the flow of drawings tells pictures that I didn’t realize existed in memory, formulating the journey of change. I fully realize that it is one of the gifts to improve what has preceded and engage strongly in work. I found myself accepting what happened, possessing positivity, motivation, and the appropriate focus to create. The result was the formation of regular journey lines within the drawings, closely interacting with the daily events of that period. Drawing here was the means to capture the scene and a space to create a special dialogue about each issue and then present it socially.
It is a turning point that must be reached as everything that surrounds it begins: with disappearance.’
