“Circle 9” is a mesmerizing round canvas that draws the eye into its richly textured center, where layers of ochre, sienna, and pale turquoise mingle in a tactile dance of brushstrokes and impasto. From this vibrant core, a delicate outline unfurls around the perimeter, sketching a lived-in world: terraced mud-brick houses with flat roofs, silhouettes of grazing goats and the proud stance of a lone camel, and the clean lines of electrical poles that hum with unseen energy. Between these human and animal figures, slender trunks of date palms and acacia trees rise, their branches weaving through narrow alleyways and small neighborhood clusters. Beyond the dwellings, a hint of rolling dunes and distant hills anchors the composition in its landscape context.
